Next on tap for the theology for breakfast Tuesday morning edition is The Six Feet Under Series. Rest assured (not RIP!) that it will not kill you, but it will be discussions based upon the writings of dead guys. Not just any dead guys, but a dozen or so of the most influential in the history of the church. We will not just read about key historical figures, but will actually read their writings. Each week will cover a sampling from a different Christ follower. The goal here is spiritual growth gained from gifted teachers who have made some of the greatest contributions to the faith. Writings will be handed out the week before discussion and/or posted on this site. Authors will include Augustine, Luther, Calvin, Knox, Owen, Bunyan, Edwards, Whitefield, Spurgeon, Warfield, Machen, and Lloyd-Jones. Read Augustine’s Confessions (pp.9-30) for next week. Note the rich biblically influenced devotion!
